HDFC Mutual Fund Acquires Stake in Medanta's Parent Firm
HDFC Mutual Fund purchased 10 lakh shares of Global Health for Rs 122.50 crore, increasing its stake in the Medanta healthcare chain. This move slightly reduced co-founder Sunil Sachdeva's holdings. Following the transaction, Global Health's shares closed up nearly 1% on the National Stock Exchange.
HDFC Mutual Fund made a notable acquisition on Monday, purchasing 10 lakh shares of Global Health, the parent company of the Medanta healthcare chain, for over Rs 122 crore.
The acquired shares, reflecting a 0.37% stake, were obtained from Medanta's co-founder, Sunil Sachdeva, through open market transactions at Rs 1,225 each.
Following the transaction, Global Health shares rose nearly 1% on the NSE. This strategic move comes in the wake of Global Health reporting a substantial 39.7% increase in profit for the fourth quarter of 2026.
