South Korea, Japan agree to boost energy cooperation, strengthen security ties

​South ​Korea and ‌Japan agreed to ​expand cooperation on LNG ‌and crude oil supply, including on stockpiling and energy ‌security, South Korean President ‌Lee Jae Myung said after bilateral talks in Andong on ⁠Tuesday.

Lee ​and ⁠Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi ⁠also reaffirmed stronger security coordination, ​including trilateral cooperation with the ⁠United States, and pledged to ⁠advance ​their “shuttle diplomacy” aimed at deepening ties ⁠amid a rapidly changing security environment, ⁠Lee ⁠said in a joint press statement.
