The United Democratic Front (UDF) appears to be securing an early lead in Malappuram district as election results begin to surface. As trends reveal, UDF candidates are prominently ahead in multiple constituencies, though the Left Democratic Front (LDF) remains a formidable opponent in certain areas.

In specific constituencies, UDF candidates like T P Ashraf Ali in Kondotty and P K Basheer in Eranad are posting slim leads, while P K Kunhalikutty holds a strong 312-vote lead in Malappuram. Vengara and Vallikkunnu also report significant UDF maneuvers with leads of 98 and 110 votes, respectively.

Conversely, the LDF shows strongholds in constituencies such as Tirur, Kottakkal, and Ponnani, emphasizing a tense competition. Meanwhile, Kollam district marks the commencement of its vote counting, with heavy police deployed in and around counting centers to maintain security.
