In an extensive interstate operation, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police (NR-II) has apprehended a notorious robber who had been on the run due to his involvement in two high-profile robbery cases in Bihar. A cumulative loot of Rs 12.8 lakh was reported in these incidents, officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to the police, the suspect skillfully evaded capture after committing armed robberies amounting to Rs 2.8 lakh and Rs 10 lakh in Bihar. However, through rigorous technical surveillance and intelligence gathering, the suspect was eventually located and taken into custody from his hideout in Delhi, where he had been hiding to dodge arrest.
Alongside this, in a distinct operation targeting the illegal pharmaceutical drug trade, Delhi Police arrested three suspects allegedly smuggling banned and regulated medications. Police seized a significant amount of Alprazolam tablets, Tramadol capsules, and codeine-based cough syrup, intending to disrupt the supply chain across Delhi-NCR. Investigations into both matters are ongoing.
