In a significant step towards enhancing India's solar supply chain, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the ReNew solar manufacturing facility. The Rs 5,400-crore project, located in Anakapalli district, is set to produce 6 GW of solar ingots and wafers.

The facility, expected to commence production within 24 months, will generate over 2,100 jobs. Naidu emphasized the state's strategy to expand investments in renewable energy, with upcoming projects in Anantapur and Kurnool districts.

The initiative underlines Andhra Pradesh's commitment to renewable energy, aiming to contribute 160 GW to India's goal of 500 GW by 2030, and positions the state as a potential leader in high-value solar manufacturing.
