Waheed Omer, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Italy, has stepped down. In a social media post, Omer says he will soon start a new assignment within government in Kabul.
Waheed Omer wrote on Twitter, "After nearly 3 years of serving as Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Italy and PR to UN offices in Rome, my resignation was approved by the president today. I want to be In Afghanistan in this critical time. I will be starting a new job within the government soon."
