Kerala's Finance Minister KN Balagopal has assured that the state's financial health and governance are on solid ground, even as he criticized the central government's treatment of opposition-ruled states. Speaking with ANI, Balagopal stated, 'Kerala's finances and administrative performance are progressing smoothly despite challenges.'
The minister accused the Union government of fostering a 'negative' attitude towards states led by opposing parties, leading to significant revenue cuts. Balagopal claimed this issue extends beyond Kerala, impacting several states nationwide. 'Every opposition state is affected by the Union government's attitude,' he emphasized.
As Kerala gears up for assembly elections on April 9, with results expected on May 4, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary MA Baby lauded the Left Democratic Front's leadership under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He highlighted the coalition's historical electoral victory, expanding its assembly seats from 91 to 99, and its achievements in enhancing social security for the state's poorest residents.
