A fire erupted Tuesday at the Gannavaram International Airport in Vijayawada, causing damage to equipment and luggage in the Customs section, officials reported.
The blaze, initially originating in the immigration room, spread to adjacent areas of the Customs office. Firefighters swiftly responded to control the damage.
Although the fire consumed software equipment, an air conditioner, and Customs officials' luggage, fire personnel contained the situation, averting a disaster. Further updates are awaited as investigations continue.
