The South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), in partnership with the Department of Posts' Chhattisgarh Circle, marked a milestone celebration by releasing a special India Post 'Special Cover' on October 26, 2025. The event celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Coal India Limited (CIL) and the Ruby Jubilee of SECL's contributions to India's energy sector.
The unveiling took place with notable attendees, including P M Prasad, Chairman of Coal India Limited, and Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of SECL. The issuance of the unique philatelic Special Cover serves as a commemorative piece, symbolizing Coal India's extensive legacy in fueling the nation's progress, complemented by SECL's four decades of excellence in coal production.
Since its inception in 1975, Coal India has been the major pillar of India's energy security, addressing over 70% of the coal demand. The Golden Jubilee year sees the achievement of unprecedented production milestones. SECL's Gevra Mine exemplifies operational excellence and environmental responsibility, underscoring a continuous commitment to sustainable mining practices, social welfare, and ecological preservation.
