In a fierce critique, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP government has plunged the banking sector into crisis through economic mismanagement. According to Gandhi, Rs 16 lakh crore worth of loans were written off, benefiting a few billionaire associates of the government.
Gandhi, using the social media platform X, expressed deep concern over the ordeal faced by junior banking employees who suffer from extreme workplace stress due to these policies. Highlighting their plight, he mentioned a meeting with 782 former ICICI Bank employees in Parliament, shedding light on disturbing workplace conditions and systemic issues.
The employees conveyed distressing stories of harassment, forced transfers, and unethical practices, with reports of retaliatory measures for exposing misconduct. Gandhi noted that the problems extended beyond one institution, affecting banking professionals countrywide.
Condemning the financial governance under the BJP, Gandhi stressed the human toll of these policies, vowing that the Congress party would champion the cause of honest working professionals across the nation.
In a related political move, Gandhi is set to visit Bihar for the 'Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan' and is anticipated to support Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar's 'Naukari Do Yatra.' Recently, he participated in a strategic meeting in Bihar to fortify the Congress's district-level presence.
