In a staunch endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agricultural policies, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan commended record subsidies on fertilisers and extensive infrastructure efforts under the PM-JANMAN Yojana. Chouhan praised the government's steps in regulating import-export duties to fortify domestic agriculture, signaling a well-intentioned move towards enhancing farmer incomes.

Chouhan delivered a pointed critique of the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) administration, contrasting its record of fertiliser price hikes with the Modi government's stabilizing measures. Citing historical data, he outlined dramatic price increases during the UPA's tenure, highlighting the staff's current fiscal allocation of Rs 1.75 lakh crore to ensure stable fertiliser prices, safeguarding farmers from financial strain.

The minister further detailed the administration's plans for the Kharif season, where a subsidy of Rs 37,216 crore is allocated. Chouhan underscored initiatives like maintaining a steady 11 percent import duty on lentils and 10 percent on 'Chana' to benefit local farmers. Additionally, significant road projects under PM-JANMAN Yojana aim to enhance connectivity and support impoverished and farming communities. Chouhan was categorical in his message, emphasizing the Modi government's unwavering pro-farmer agenda.
