Pioneering Green Hydrogen: INOX Air Products Partners with AIS for Sustainable Glass Production in India
INOX Air Products, India's largest gas manufacturer, has launched the country's first green hydrogen plant at Asahi India Glass Limited's facility in Rajasthan. This plant, powered by solar energy, aims to supply AIS with sustainable hydrogen for glass production, reducing CO2 emissions significantly and promoting sustainability.

INOX Air Products, a major gas manufacturer in India, has launched a groundbreaking green hydrogen manufacturing plant in partnership with Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS). Located at AIS's greenfield float glass facility in Rajasthan, the plant's commissioning marks a significant leap towards sustainable glass production in India.
With a capacity to produce up to 190 tons of green hydrogen annually, the plant utilizes solar energy for an environmentally-friendly electrolysis process. This initiative represents India's first application of green hydrogen in float glass manufacturing, setting a precedent for eco-friendly industrial practices.
Siddharth Jain from INOX Air Products highlighted the environmental benefits, noting a reduction of 1250 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The long-term agreement between INOX and AIS underscores a mutual commitment to sustainability, with AIS integrating green hydrogen into its operations to fulfill 94% of its power needs with renewable energy sources.
