A powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, eliciting reactions from political leaders including Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both expressed concern and assured readiness to assist affected regions.
The earthquake prompted Thailand's stock exchange to suspend trading. Alarming incidents followed, such as the collapse of a construction site in Chatuchak district, where 43 workers were trapped, seven of whom managed to escape.
In response, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra issued a nationwide alert warning of aftershocks and called for a coordinated government response. As of now, no casualties have been reported, and authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
