A jawan sustained injuries following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion orchestrated by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district on Friday. Bastar Inspector General Sundarraj P confirmed that the injured soldier received first aid at the Narayanapur District Hospital, and his condition has since stabilized.
Authorities have launched a search operation in the area to locate the perpetrators. The incident follows a similar attack last week in the Abujhmad area, which also affected two security personnel, underscoring ongoing security challenges in the region.
In a recent parliamentary session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced significant progress against Naxalism, with 2,619 insurgents arrested, surrendered, or neutralized last year. Shah assured that the government's revised strategy against Naxalism is making strides towards the goal of eradicating the insurgency by 2026.
