During a recent visit to the Polavaram project, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed his administration's commitment to rehabilitating those displaced by the project. Naidu underscored the importance of completing rehabilitation efforts before releasing water from the project, pledging to inaugurate it only after ensuring justice for the displaced.

The Chief Minister criticized past administrations for their failure to adequately compensate those affected. He noted that a significant sum of Rs 4,311 crores was disbursed under his regime, contrasting it with the alleged negligence during YSRCP's rule. Naidu expressed concern over the delay in project completion, leading to increased costs, including rebuilding a diaphragm wall.

Reiterating the state's responsibility to its citizens, Naidu promised to address grievances, particularly those of the tribal communities who sacrificed significantly. He announced plans for additional financial assistance and initiatives to boost their living standards, while urging the public to remain cautious of hollow promises from opposition entities.
