Adani Energy's Strategic Expansion: Acquisition of Mahan Transmission Ltd

Adani Energy Solution Ltd has acquired Mahan Transmission Ltd, a significant intra-state transmission project. This acquisition involves the establishment of substations and transmission lines to support Madhya Pradesh's industrial growth. The project, to be completed by April 2027, is part of Adani's strategy for shareholder value enhancement.

Adani Energy Solution Ltd, the power transmission arm of the Adani conglomerate, has announced its acquisition of Mahan Transmission Ltd, further expanding its electric network capabilities. This project, worth Rs 2,200 crore, is expected to strengthen electricity infrastructure within Madhya Pradesh.

In a recent filing, Adani Energy highlighted that a Share Purchase Agreement was executed with REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, ensuring a 100 percent equity transfer of Mahan Transmission Ltd. The project involves establishing substations and nearly 740 kilometers of transmission lines.

Slated for completion by April 2027, the project is strategically positioned to funnel power from Adani Power's upcoming expansion unit, aiding the state's industrialization efforts. Having secured this under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding framework, it's AESL's seventh contract win this year.
