On Thursday, opposition parties staged a protest outside the Bihar Legislative Assembly, voicing their dissatisfaction over the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 and the inclusion of the revised quota in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Prominent RJD leaders held posters condemning the controversial bill, demanding its withdrawal.

RJD MLA Mukesh Kumar Yadav expressed concern over the bill, labeling it a targeted move against certain communities. He accused the government of attempting to privatize Waqf properties, likening it to the privatization of railways and airways, and vowed that RJD, under Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav's leadership, would resist its implementation.

Congress leader Ajit Sharma echoed the opposition's sentiments, urging the government to revoke the bill amidst growing corruption allegations in Bihar. Meanwhile, RJD's Bhai Virendra questioned statements regarding the bill, emphasizing the party's commitment to uprooting alleged corruption. The protest saw Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav rallying alongside the All India Muslim Personal Law Board in solidarity.
