In a bid to bolster the effectiveness of Delhi's law enforcement, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has championed the integration of modernized training techniques, including the Israeli martial art, Krav Maga. Facilitated by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), this program tailors a specialized curriculum designed to equip officers with practical skills for real-life scenarios.

The training, hosted at the ITBP Training Center in Panchkula, involves approximately 50 Delhi Police personnel, of which 19 are women. These officers are under the tutelage of ITBP instructors schooled by Israeli police, ensuring that the training is grounded in authentic and effective techniques.

The comprehensive program encompasses commando exercises, firearms training, and advanced self-defense techniques derived from Krav Maga. Developed by the Israeli Defense Forces, this hand-to-hand combat discipline integrates boxing, judo, karate, and wrestling elements designed to neutralize threats swiftly and efficiently.

Upon conclusion of the 84-day course, trained officers are expected to return as instructors who will disseminate their knowledge among new recruits, enhancing the police force's combat-ready ethos. Rigorous mental and physical screenings ensure participants are prepared to absorb and implement the training, with a pointed focus on self-defense and safeguarding women's safety.

Expectations are high as this initiative promises to markedly improve the operational readiness and defensive proficiency of Delhi's police force.
