In a significant address at the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi highlighted the imperative of jointness and integration among India's Armed Forces in response to the evolving nature of modern warfare.

Addressing the student officers and permanent staff participating in the 80th Staff Course, Gen Dwivedi underscored the strategic challenges confronting India and the requisite synergy among the armed forces to tackle these challenges effectively. He applauded the college's role in shaping future military leaders and noted the critical importance of professional military education in bolstering operational readiness and decision-making prowess.

During his visit, Gen Dwivedi emphasized leadership, adaptability, and the integration of technology as vital components of modern warfare. He urged officers to proactively confront emerging security threats and champion innovation within military planning and operations. His engagement included insightful discussions with faculty members on military strategy, operational art, and leadership development.

Lt Gen Virendra Vats, Commandant of DSSC, briefed the COAS on the updates to the Staff Course curriculum, designed to address future warfare challenges, notably highlighted by the Deep Purple Division's training initiatives involving 40 tri-services officers. Furthermore, Gen Dwivedi recognized veterans' contributions to India's defense with the 'Veteran Achievers Award' during his interaction at Wellington Military Station.
