Atishi Criticizes BJP Over Liquor Offer Chaos in UP

Delhi Legislative Assembly's Leader of Opposition, Atishi, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. This comes in response to viral online videos displaying massive crowds outside liquor stores, drawn by a 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' promotion, sparking allegations of promoting alcoholism.

Addressing reporters, Atishi expressed concern over the chaotic scenes captured in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, including regions like Noida, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar. "Utter chaos prevails due to the 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' offer at liquor outlets," she said, questioning the BJP's intentions and the potential for it to lead to widespread alcoholism across adjacent states.

Atishi further pressed the BJP for a response, inquiring whether the party leadership approves of the initiative. She also called for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe potential corruption linked to the scheme, challenging the BJP to take a definitive stance on the matter.
