RBI's Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Schedule for FY 2025-26 Unveiled

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the timetable for its bi-monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meetings for the fiscal year 2025-26 on Wednesday.
The first meeting is scheduled from April 7-9, followed by another beginning June 4, according to an official statement. The six-member panel usually votes on the third day, with the governor revealing the outcome the following morning.
Following the second policy review ending on June 6, meetings are slated for August, September, December, and February. The MPC, including three external members, deliberates on domestic and global economic conditions to formulate policy. In their last session in February, the committee reduced the short-term lending rate by 25 basis points after a five-year gap.
