Deputy Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla was observed departing the scene as investigations into the fire's cause persisted. Simultaneously, the Delhi High Court disclosed that Justice Varma's judicial duties were suspended indefinitely.

The controversy surrounding Justice Varma intensified when the Supreme Court Collegium recommended his reassignment to his original post at Allahabad High Court. This move faced criticism from the Allahabad High Court Bar Association, which called for a thorough review of his judgments to reinforce public confidence in the judiciary.
