Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark Ram Navami with a significant visit to Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, where he will offer prayers at the historic Ramanathswamy Temple. Concurrently, Modi will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Pamban Bridge, a monumental project that replaces the old 1914 bridge, which was decommissioned due to corrosion.
The new Pamban Bridge, spanning over 2.5 kilometers and constructed at a cost of Rs 535 crore by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), is engineered to handle faster trains and more traffic. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw praised the bridge as a symbol of progress in connectivity and shared details in November 2024 about its groundbreaking vertical lift design.
In related events, both President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi extended warm greetings to Bangladesh on its National Day, underscoring the multifaceted partnership and shared history between the two countries. Their messages highlighted the Indo-Bangladesh relationship's depth, celebrating ongoing cooperation across various domains.
