In a coordinated operation, formations under the Indian Army's Spear Corps, together with the Assam Rifles, executed a series of joint operations across Manipur, leading to the substantial recovery of illegal weapons. According to an official release, the crackdown from March 22 to 25 spanned across several districts, including Kakching, Imphal West, Imphal East, Senapati, and Bishnupur.

The multi-agency effort, conducted in collaboration with the Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, yielded the seizure of 32 weapons and numerous war-like stores. Notably, on March 22, authorities in Kakching district unearthed several high-caliber arms, including an improvised mortar and a variety of rifles. In the same sweep, additional weapons were retrieved from Henbung and Sagolmang areas.

As the crackdown continued, security forces made further discoveries in the following days. On March 23, Phaikot in Senapati district saw the recovery of an INSAS rifle, complementing similar operations elsewhere. The following day, a separate operation in Imphal East resulted in seizures of mortars and small arms, underscoring ongoing efforts to suppress illegal arms activities. The confiscated items have been handed over for further investigation.
