In a strong display of interfaith respect, Muslim Cleric Chaudhary Ifraheem Husain has voiced support for closing meat shops during the Hindu festival of Navratri. He stated that the Muslim community values the sentiments associated with different religions and acknowledges the significance of maintaining harmony and respect among diverse faiths.
Husain, speaking to ANI, reiterated that Muslims have no objections to the administrative move as it aligns with respecting Hindu traditions. He noted that just as Hindus observe Navratri with special practices, Muslims too have learned to honor the festivals of their Hindu friends, showcasing a spirit of mutual respect.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a nationwide outreach program aimed at assisting economically disadvantaged Muslims before Eid. The initiative, which includes the distribution of 'Saugat-e-Modi' Eid kits, was lauded by Husain as it addresses both the physical needs and emotional stresses of underprivileged communities during the holy month of Ramzan.
