In a major offensive against insurgency, security forces undertook search operations across the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts in Manipur, recovering substantial arms and ammunition caches, officials announced Wednesday.

The seized items included a 9 mm pistol, an automatic gun, hand grenades, large numbers of live rounds, and a variety of magazines and other weaponry from Chingkhei Ching in Imphal East District. The operation comes amid heightened efforts to dismantle insurgent networks intensifying in the area.

Another crackdown on March 24 in Bishnupur district led to the arrest of three members of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak. Their capture, along with a substantial cache of arms, further underscores the sustained efforts by security forces to curb armed insurgency in the region.
