Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, acclaimed as the state's longest-serving CM with two successive terms, spoke exclusively to ANI about the 2027 Assembly elections, pointing to democracy's vital role. "The government in a democracy is formed by those whom the people support," he emphasized, highlighting this principle as central to the party's future trajectory.

Adityanath, acknowledging the rarity of serving two straight terms in UP, credited it to the BJP's governance model. "This marks the first continuous five-year term followed by a government re-election with a two-thirds majority," said Adityanath. He attributed the lasting service and success to the party's model emphasizing service, security, and governance, reiterating that public support dictates governance in a democracy.

When queried about ambitions for a third term, Adityanath stated, "I will not try. Our party will try," emphasizing the possibility for any BJP member to ascend to the chief minister role. Addressing rumors about transitioning to national politics, the former Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur diverted to discussing development in Ayodhya, noting that political moves hinge on progressing inheritances.

Reflecting on his eight-year leadership, he praised UP's progress under the BJP government, stressing people's support as a significant achievement. "Aligned with Prime Minister Modi's guidance, our plans have catalyzed comprehensive development with strong public backing, which I deem a government achievement," he asserted.

Adityanath outlined advances in agriculture, youth development, infrastructure, investments, law and order, and tourism, asserting that Uttar Pradesh stands as a paramount example. "Across numerous sectors — agriculture, infrastructure, or resolving inheritance and development — Uttar Pradesh showcases exemplary progress," he remarked.
