Congress Member of Parliament Manish Tewari has initiated an Adjournment Motion in the Lok Sabha, urging the suspension of routine proceedings to undertake a crucial discourse on alleged inconsistencies within the higher judiciary. Tewari emphasized the heightened national importance of this issue, implicating all pillars of democracy in supporting public trust.

In his notice, Tewari expressed concerns over reports of judicial aberrations troubling the legal community and citizens nationwide. He urged the government to present a detailed statement in the House concerning the incidents that question the judiciary's integrity and fairness, underscoring Parliament's role in maintaining oversight.

The motion highlights the urgency of maintaining the judicial system's trustworthiness, while the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced disruptions over remarks by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The BJP criticized these comments, prompting a counter-response from Congress, including a privilege notice against Kiren Rijiju.
