Tripura Unveils Rs 50 Crore Eco Park to Propel Tourism and Boost Economy
The Tripura Government announced a new eco park in Sachindranagar Colony to enhance tourism, inspired by Kolkata's Nico Park. Part of the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative, this project aims to create jobs, elevate living standards, and highlight Tripura's cultural efforts in minority language development.

In a bid to enhance its tourism profile, the Tripura Government has initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art Eco Park at Sachindranagar Colony in Jiraniya. This ambitious project, costing an estimated Rs 50 crore, aims to position Tripura prominently on the global tourism map by attracting both domestic and international visitors.
The park's design takes inspiration from the iconic Nico Park in Kolkata and forms part of the Central Government's Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, alongside Rajib Kaul, Managing Director of Kolkata Nico Park, and other officials, recently conducted a site visit. Minister Chowdhury emphasized that the eco park will foster job creation and improve living standards for local communities dramatically.
This development heralds a pivotal advancement in Tripura's tourism and infrastructure sectors, foreseeing accelerated economic and social growth. On a related note, Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the government's efforts to promote Kokborok and other minority languages by allocating funds to support relevant educational initiatives such as book publishing and seminars.
