Iraq Accuses Iran of Using Forged Documents for Oil Tankers
Iraq's oil minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani has accused Iranian oil tankers stopped by U.S. forces of using forged Iraqi documents. Iran denies the claim, attributing the allegations to U.S. officials as part of a broader campaign to pressure Tehran amid escalating tensions. Iraq remains cautious, balancing between its U.S. and Iranian partnerships.

Iraq's oil minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani has claimed that Iranian oil tankers detained by U.S. forces in the Gulf were operating with forged Iraqi documents.
According to Abdel-Ghani, U.S. naval forces intercepted these tankers carrying falsified Iraqi shipping manifests. Tehran has denied the accusations, labeling them as baseless fabrications propelled by U.S. officials.
The situation underscores the geopolitical tension with Iraq caught between U.S. 'maximum pressure' strategies against Iran and its reliance on maintaining solid relations with both countries.
