In a visit marking the confluence of tradition and development, President of India, Droupadi Murmu, arrived in Odisha's Bhubaneswar from Chhattisgarh's Raipur on Monday. After her arrival, the President proceeded to Nayagarh, where she participated in darshan and puja at the revered Lord Nilamadhab Temple before attending a significant cultural event.
Speaking at the foundation day ceremony of the Bharatiya Biswabasu Shabar Samaj in Kaliapalli, President Murmu highlighted the picturesque allure of Nayagarh, advocating for its untapped potential as a tourist hotspot. She expressed optimism about the role of improved infrastructure in boosting tourism and economic growth, urging collective efforts in diverse areas including agriculture and handicrafts.

Prior to her Odisha visit, President Murmu met with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in New Delhi. The Chief Minister extended an invitation for her to attend the launch of the 'Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan' on March 30. This state initiative will emphasize public involvement in water conservation, highlighting a key regional environmental priority.
