ESIC Registers Over 18 Lakh New Employees in January 2025
In January 2025, the Employee State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) added 18.19 lakh new employees and brought 27,805 new establishments under its social security scheme, highlighting a significant growth in coverage. Young employees constituted nearly half of the total, and female enrolment stood at 3.65 lakh, alongside 85 transgender registrations.

In a significant boost to social security coverage, the Employee State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) reported the addition of 18.19 lakh new employees in January 2025, according to recent provisional payroll data.
The data also reveals that 27,805 new establishments have been integrated into the ESI Scheme, thereby extending its benefits to a broader workforce. Young workers, particularly those aged up to 25 years, dominated the new additions, accounting for nearly 47.66% of total registrations.
Furthermore, the gender-wise analysis shows a positive trend in female workforce registration, with 3.65 lakh women joining ESIC in January. Additionally, the scheme continues its inclusive approach by registering 85 transgender employees, reinforcing ESIC's commitment to all segments of society.
