In Bhopal on Monday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav presided over a cabinet meeting focusing on critical state issues, ranging from hailstorm relief for farmers to burgeoning industrial investments and wildlife conservation projects.

The Chief Minister highlighted that more than 400 villages were reported to have suffered crop damage due to hailstorms. Consequently, he instructed officials to expedite damage assessments and release relief funds to the affected rural communities.

Further, CM Yadav emphasised the ongoing commitment to environmental conservation as the state eyes the creation of additional wildlife sanctuaries. A significant initiative involves developing Madhya Pradesh's 26th sanctuary at Omkareshwar, spanning 614 square kilometers, envisioned as a future tiger reserve void of human settlements.

As part of the Global Investors Summit (GIS) outcomes, CM Yadav revealed plans to transform investment proposals into reality, marked by bhoomi pujan for 18 industrial units in the Gwalior-Chambal region. Groundbreaking ceremonies have already kicked off with units set to spring up in Morena, Gwalior, and Bhind districts.

The Ujjain division is next in line, with the commencement of industrial establishments scheduled for Tuesday, focusing on the Ujjain district and other areas. The CM assured continued progression in other divisions, too. Additionally, he underscored the necessity of ensuring drinking water accessibility given the approaching summer, with special attention to public distribution and provisions for animals and birds.

Ahead of the meeting, CM Yadav launched the Vikramaditya flag and a new Vikram Samvat booklet. The Gudi Padwa festival is anticipated on March 30 with ministers participating in district festivities. Celebrations of Vikram Mahotsav, featuring theatrical performances on Emperor Vikramaditya, will take place in New Delhi and other major cities in April. (ANI)
