Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was among the 44 passengers onboard, who witnessed the dramatic event during their journey. The aircraft, unable to halt at the intended point, overshot beyond the runway.

Speaking to the press, Deputy CM Agnihotri described the unsettling landing experience, highlighting the aircraft's failure to touch down properly. 'As a passenger, it was clear the landing wasn't as per protocol,' he noted. Passengers were kept onboard for an additional 20-25 minutes as the aircraft stood at the runway's end, following a forceful application of brakes.

The Airport Authority of India and DGCA are now assessing the hydraulic system failure that led to the alarming situation. While all passengers are reported to be safe, the incident raises serious concerns about the adherence to standard landing protocols.
