The Kremlin issued a statement on Friday condemning Western sanctions against Iran's nuclear ambitions as illegal, calling for their immediate lift. This development comes in the backdrop of a tripartite meeting in Beijing, where China, Russia, and Iran deliberated on the contentious issue.
According to Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin's spokesperson, Iran has not displayed any intent to develop nuclear weapons, asserting the nation's legitimate right to pursue nuclear energy for civilian purposes. Peskov highlighted that Moscow is actively supporting Tehran in its civil nuclear energy initiatives.
Collaborative efforts for a diplomatic resolution are being urged by Moscow, as they stress the importance of dialogue grounded in mutual respect, moving forward from the current impasse.
