Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has taken a firm stance against the ongoing political discourse surrounding delimitation, dismissing it as a "non-issue." He accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of concocting unnecessary controversies to mask inefficiencies in governance.
Annamalai clarified that the delimitation process, when enacted, would adhere to the pro-rata system as specified by Home Minister Amit Shah, ensuring an equitable representation for states in the central legislative body, maintaining current ratios like Tamil Nadu's 39 MPs out of 543.
The BJP leader chastised the DMK and its associates for stirring trouble, suggesting that their actions serve as a diversion. He emphasized the need for state governments to prioritize governance and economic development over petty politicking, and criticized the DMK's state budget as riddled with hollow promises and significant corruption. Annamalai also dismissed the DMK's critiques of policies such as the National Education Policy and GST, predicting electoral backlash against DMK's tactics.
