Delhi Police heightened security measures to ensure peaceful Holi celebrations across the city, with strategic flag marches and vehicle checks in areas such as Jyoti Nagar and Govindpuri. Extra vigilance was observed in regions like Okhla, where security forces were stationed ahead of the festivities.
On Thursday, thorough vetting of vehicles and bike patrolling were conducted to maintain order in bustling areas like Connaught Place. High-profile locations including Jama Masjid and Malviya Nagar saw flag marches that involved paramilitary forces and drone surveillance to deter any disturbances.
Deputy Commissioner of Police New Delhi, Devesh Kumar Mahla, highlighted the importance of bike patrolling during the Holi festival to uphold a peaceful atmosphere. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta sent her heartfelt wishes nationwide, hoping for a festival filled with joy, love, and camaraderie.
Gupta emphasized the need for a respectful and environmentally conscious celebration, urging citizens to spread love and harmony.
