Tripura Embarks on High-Tech, Earthquake-Resistant Government Hub

Tripura state government has embarked on constructing a landmark high-rise office building in Agartala, marking a significant advancement in modern infrastructure. The 15-story structure, initiated by Chief Minister Manik Saha in January 2023, is set to house multiple government offices and integrate advanced sustainable technology.
Despite initial delays caused by the need for environmental and pollution No Objection Certificates due to its proximity to the airport, construction commenced in July 2023. The state government is ensuring the structure complies with safety standards by incorporating 'pendulum technology' to withstand earthquakes, crucial for a region categorized in Earthquake Zone 5.
SDO Satyabrata Das stated that the new building will include a solar power system and other advanced electricity-related technologies, enhancing its sustainability. The completion of this Rs 134 crore project is anticipated by December 2026, showcasing Tripura's commitment to integrating modern urban development with eco-friendly and earthquake-resistant technologies.
