Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday urged state legislators to accelerate the installation of 10,000 rooftop solar power units in each of their constituencies. Speaking in the Assembly, Naidu emphasized the significant economic and environmental benefits of the central government's PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

Naidu highlighted the transformative potential of solar power, stressing that individuals can simultaneously become electricity producers and consumers. This opens up opportunities for people to sell surplus electricity back into the grid, enhancing energy sustainability and financial savings.

Positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in renewable energy, Naidu set an ambitious target of establishing 20 lakh rooftop solar power units statewide by 2025. He added that the government seeks to attract investments totaling Rs 10 lakh crore in the renewable sector to achieve 160 GW of clean power through various renewable sources.
