In the vibrant town of Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, the festive spirit of Holi has taken a luxurious turn. A local sweets shop has introduced the 'Golden Gujiya', an opulent treat priced at an astonishing Rs 50,000 per kilogram. Each piece, adorned with a layer of 24-carat gold, costs Rs 1300, leaving locals both intrigued and amazed.

The shop manager, Shivakant Chaturvedi, explained that the Golden Gujiya isn't just any dessert; it's a masterpiece. "Our 'Golden Gujiya' has a layering of 24-carat gold. The stuffing includes special dry fruits. 24-carat gold and silver are also eaten," he remarked to ANI, highlighting the exquisite nature of the sweet.

While traditional Gujiyas are cherished for their delicious khoya and nut fillings, this exclusive version stands out with its edible gold leaf, giving it a distinctive sheen. In a parallel showcase of grandeur, a Lucknow-based sweet shop has achieved a milestone by crafting India's largest Gujiya at 25 inches and 6 kilograms, earning a spot in the India Book of Records. Pramil Dwivedi, Executor of India Book of Record, confirmed the feat, acknowledging it as a groundbreaking creation.
