In a significant move to bolster healthcare in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) alongside the existing Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) on April 1. The schemes are set to impact 3.52 crore residents across the state. The extensive rollout will be held at all 1,438 primary health centres, underlining Odisha's commitment to universal health coverage.

The PM-JAY, recognized by the National Health Authority as the largest global health assurance programme, aims to provide families with an annual cover of Rs. 5 lakhs for both secondary and tertiary hospital care, targeting India's poorest demographics. In tandem, Chief Minister Majhi has announced Rs 160 crore in developmental projects for Anandpur, cementing Odisha's developmental agenda.

Furthering the state's commitment to women's welfare, Majhi unveiled the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana on International Women's Day. This scheme promises Rs 50,000 over five years to eligible women, promoting economic independence. Celebrations were marked by the launch of several new projects, reaffirming Odisha's path towards holistic development.
