In a coordinated effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police have intensified their crackdown on cross-border smuggling, launching a meticulously planned mission in the Amritsar border area. The operation resulted in the recovery of substantial narcotics, including six packets of suspected heroin weighing 3.319 kilograms, along with arms and electronic devices.
Conducted between the late hours of March 11 and the following forenoon, the operation underscored the diligence and commitment of BSF in countering smuggling activities. The recovered heroin packets were cleverly wrapped with yellow adhesive tapes and fitted with illuminated copper wire loops, signalling sophisticated smuggling methods.
The successful raid aligns with the broader crackdown on drugs known as 'Yudh Nashian Virudh,' spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. On March 5, a significant operation led to the arrest of 75 drug smugglers, significantly impacting the fight against narcotics in the region.
