In a controversial statement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ketakee Singh on Tuesday called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to establish a separate wing for Muslims at the forthcoming Ballia Medical College. Singh expressed concerns over communal tensions, suggesting separate facilities would ensure Hindu safety.

Elaborating on her point, Singh cited instances from online videos portraying Muslims in a negative light, further pressing her demand for a dedicated medical facility. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed the new Ballia Medical College, addressing a long-standing demand of the residents.

Opposition parties condemned Singh's remarks, with Samajwadi Party spokesperson Juhie Singh suggesting that such comments are irresponsible and lack historical insight. The controversy has sparked debate on whether the BJP will support or distance itself from Singh's divisive proposal.
