Rescue operations in Telangana's Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel intensified over the weekend as robotic teams joined the efforts. The tunnel collapse has tragically trapped workers inside, prompting a multidisciplinary team of 110 rescue personnel, including specialists from Anvi Robo, to enter the tunnel.
The rescue team expects to recover another body soon, although access complications hinder efforts to reach the dead-end site where the victims are believed to be stuck. On Sunday, a body of a worker was discovered, and experts predict more recoveries in the coming days.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy have expressed condolences, offering an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakhs to the bereaved families. Despite challenges, the rescue mission—supported by modern technology and expert personnel—continues to work tirelessly in the SLBC tunnel.
