ALIMCO is taking a significant step towards empowering the north-east by founding its first auxiliary production centre in Tripura. This initiative, backed by Rs 45 crore, aims to enhance the manufacturing and delivery of assistive devices for people with disabilities and senior citizens, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced.

The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, is addressing the longstanding need for a dedicated production and distribution unit in the region. This initiative promises to improve accessibility to assistive technology while simultaneously generating job opportunities for locals.

The foundation stone for this transformative facility will be ceremoniously laid on March 1, with key figures such as Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B.L. Verma attending the event.
