In a move that's stirred political unrest, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Friday criticized the central government's plans for constituency delimitation, expressing unease over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks. According to Venugopal, Shah's assurances have only added to the confusion in the southern states.

Following backlash from the southern political landscape over the proposed changes, Shah attempted to reassure the states that they wouldn't lose Lok Sabha seats. However, leaders such as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin and Karnataka's Siddaramaiah found the promises unreliable, voicing their discontent publicly.

Earlier, CM Stalin called upon citizens to actively oppose the constituency delimitation and the three-language policy, stressing the significance of these challenges on the region's self-respect and social justice. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah questioned Shah's intentions, suspecting either a lack of information or a deliberate plot against southern states.
