The Meitei organization 'Arambai Tengol' has surrendered its arms to the Manipur state government, following a meeting with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
This move is part of a broader public awareness initiative, involving District Police, Assam Rifles, and CRPF, urging locals to give up illegally held weapons. Recently, 87 weapons were surrendered in various districts including Churachandpur and Imphal West.
Security operations in hill and valley regions have led to the discovery of multiple explosive devices, including bombs and IEDs, in areas like H. Monjang village. These efforts coincide with the visit of the Indian Army's DGMO, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, who assessed the security situation along the Indo-Myanmar border.
