The Jharkhand government on Thursday unveiled supplementary financial demands totaling Rs 5,508 crore as part of the ongoing 2024-25 fiscal budget discussions. This move came during the 20-day budget session of the Assembly, marking a key phase in the state's financial planning.
Following the Question Hour, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore presented this third supplementary budget proposal, building on the earlier second supplementary budget of Rs 11,697.45 crore tabled in December 2023. The proposed demands reflect the administration's efforts to address various fiscal challenges.
The Assembly plans to debate these supplementary expenditures on Friday, setting the stage for the first comprehensive budget of the Hemant Soren-led government, to be tabled on March 3. This budget will chart the financial course for 2025-26, marking a significant milestone for the JMM-led alliance, which assumed leadership after winning the polls last November.
