In a robust critique, Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC, K Kavitha, condemned Telangana's Chief Minister for his inadequate response following the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapse. In her statement to ANI, Kavitha highlighted the grave situation of workers, including engineers, stranded within the tunnel and criticized the Chief Minister's absence from the disaster site.
Kavitha urged for swift governmental action, stressing the urgency of Chief Minister's presence and leadership in overseeing rescue operations. 'We demand immediate onsite intervention by the Chief Minister,' she insisted, reflecting the heightened tensions and dissatisfaction with the state's initial handling of the disaster.
Concurrently, Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy updated on rescue efforts, emphasizing a well-devised safety plan to accelerate operations and minimize risks. 'We have formulated a strategic rescue plan that brings speed and safety together,' he remarked, noting the imminent completion of efforts within two days. A seasoned rescue team from Uttarakhand also joined the mission, furthering the resolve for a successful operation.
