On the significant day of Mahashivratri, which marks the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar underscored the day's importance, highlighting the spiritual zeal seen throughout the nation. Ravishankar told ANI, 'Witness the multitude of people seeking Shiva's blessings. It's a grand occasion, and the Maha Kumbh concludes today. After 1000 years, Somnath bestows blessings. Let's envision health, happiness, and prosperity for all.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed greetings for Mahashivratri, expressing wishes for prosperity and good health. PM Modi posted on X, 'Wishing all citizens a joyous Mahashivratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva. May this divine day bring joy, growth, and health to everyone, reinforcing our commitment to a developed India. Har Har Mahadev!'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared his blessings, 'Heartfelt greetings to all on Mahashivratri. This festival of Shiva and Shakti is one of spiritual reflection and faith. I pray to Mahadev for everyone's well-being,' Shah expressed on X.

Maha Shivratri, known as the great night of Shiva, is revered for spiritual advancement and symbolizes triumph over darkness and ignorance. It commemorates the divine marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati, representing fertility, love, and power. According to Hindu tradition, during their marriage night, a diverse ensemble of Hindu deities, animals, and demons accompanied Lord Shiva. The Shiva-Shakti pairing epitomizes love and strength.
